Extension Program

My overall statewide extension duties include the development and delivery of management tactics for arthropods affecting horticultural crops and plants (e.g., turf, woody ornamentals and trees, vegetables, and fruits) and what control options are available to control them (e.g., chemical, biological, cultural, mechanical/physical, etc.). The stakeholders I serve include both the homeowner and commercial operations. In addition, I also assist the Pest Diagnostic Clinic (Division of Plant Sciences) in providing identification and control recommendation for arthropod-damaged horticultural plant material. I also participate in making insecticide recommendations for several state and regional publications. A major portion of my extension program is directed toward homeowner education (e.g. Master Gardener programs, guide sheets, etc.) concerning the biology and different control options available for yard and garden pests.
