Post-doctoral Fellows

Ian KeeseyIan graduated in 2004 from Gustavus Adolphus College in St. Peter, MN, with a B.A. in Biology. He finished his Master’s degree in Entomology at the University of Missouri in 2007, then went on to complete his PhD in Plant, Insect and Microbial Science in 2011. Ian has focused his studies and research on plant-insect interactions, with an emphasis in chemical ecology. He was also a teaching assistant in Insect Diversity for four years (Plant Science 3715), as well as a former president of the C.V. Riley Entomological Society at MU. Currently he is conducting research through a post-doctoral appointment in Dr. Barrett’s laboratory, with projects focused on isolating and identifying insect pheromones as well as the volatile organic compounds from plant tissues. This is in conjunction with ongoing research dealing with the behavioral and electrophysiological roles these compounds play in mediating weevil and moth mating-finding and host-plant interactions.
