Description
Harlan Palm has a research appointment focusing on precision agriculture. Current projects study causes of within-field variability in crop yield. On-the-go sensors are being used to measure landscape features, soil profiles, and crop growth. Variable-rate technology is used to apply remedial or experimental inputs of fertilizer, lime and seeding rates. Multi- and hyper-spectral imagery monitors crop growth in response to known within-field variability or inputs.
