Description
Tom Wyllie accepted a position as assistant professor in field crops at the University of Missouri in 1960. He joined and was a charter member of the newly established Plant Pathology Department formed in 1967 as an associate professor and rose to the rank of full professor in Plant Pathology in 1968. The majority of his research was in the area of soilborne diseases caused primarily by fungi with emphasis on charcoal rot of soybean. He retired in 1994 as an emeritus professor.
