Students for the Advancement of Plant Pathology (SAPP) is supported by a generous endowment from Daniel F. Millikan, who was a professor and charter member of the Department of Plant Pathology at MU. Each year, the association hosts a notable scientist in the field of plant microbiology and pathology for the Millikan Memorial Lecture.

The Daniel Millikan Travel Fund was established through a gift provided by Daniel Millikan to be used for graduate study in plant pathology. Travel funds are available to graduate students in the Division of Plant Sciences who belong to the Plant Stress Biology Program Area and whose major focus on research is in the field of plant microbiology or pathology.
